Anniversary 334. Asier Mendizabal in the Reina Sofia Museum

Dates: February 9 - May 2, 2011
Held Sabatini Building, 4th Floor
Organization: Museo Reina Sofia

In much of the work of Asier Mendizabal (Ordizia, 1973) history ceases to be a practice related to the past to reveal the cracks through which it becomes this intimate activity. His works, enigmatic and difficult to unravel, make the story becomes an event that updates the past, a past in which art history and ideology of the forms are of fundamental importance that refers to its link with the groups Social and use as an identification tool, glorification or condemnation. The means employed, while recognizing the weight of the sculpture in the twentieth century Basque exhibit a variety of resources to raise readings outside the reflection on space or means and, therefore, are presented in a way that rejects all metaphysics.
